If you spend a lot of time in the kitchen and working on messy projects, oftentimes your hands can begin to feel neglected. You may find yourself turning to a store bought, over-priced, ordinary hand scrub to give your hands the pampering they deserve, but seriously, don’t waste your money. Those of you that know me well, know that I have a love of making my own bath and beauty products. Homemade products are completely customizable and free from artificial fragrances and colors, which is perfect for those of us with sensitive skin.
This scrub takes about 2 minutes to whip up and can be made for about $1.50 per batch. It’s citrus, minty scent is beautifully spa-like and the sweet almond oil will make your hands soft and help erase skin imperfections over time. Let’s get started!
- 3/4 cup white granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp of dried orange peel (available at most craft stores)
- 2 tbsp sweet almond oil
- 6-7 drops spearmint essential oil
- 6-7 drops sweet orange essential oil
- 1 jar with a lid
Combine all ingredients and mix until well incorporated.
Transfer to the lidded jar and keep by your sink. It should keep for about 6 months, but I’m sure it won’t last that long!😉
